Gee, I thought today was 31st. I have no idea why I thought this way… Anyway it seems I am lucky to have one additional day. But it does not make any big difference, though.

I went to work to work today by bike. It was way faster than when I take a train. Only thing that annoys me is I sweat all over my back because of my bag. I have some things to carry to work, even though I don’t use them for work. I bring such as books, lunch. And now I have to bring another shirt to change. Beside to prevent getting stunk with sweat, I had to buy a deodorant. But all deodorants we can buy here is totally different from you can buy in the U.S. In the U.S., I saw stick type deodorant. But here we never have like that one. Deodorant we use is spray. So we can spray even on our back. It may sound strange to Americans about using deodorant for back. I don’t know; however I never heard people use those stick deodorants for their back.

Anyway, today’s work was kind of boring as compared with the past. I have only worked here a few days, though. I already got bored. Hahahaha. Our vice manager was absent today for a cold. She did not come two days in a row. And people of the office were really pleased with this. They worked at their ease today. But often we had troubles, because some important things were only know by her. So, I had no way to solve problems. Tomorrow she will probably come back, in here desk she got lots of tasks to do without knowing. She probably can deal with but, she must be stay late tomorrow.

On a rumor today would be rain, and I was worried about it because I put my laundries outside to dry. Not too many people have dryer at home. We usually hang them outside. It also difference between foreign country and Japan. But it was fine and I did not, even one bit, have to worry. The daylight is getting longer and longer. The rainy season is coming, perhaps after that jump into real summer. I am not the guy like summer, but of course it’s way better than rain always.

New work place

It’s still May, I am glad. I was afraid that if I did not get a job till June; to my joy I got job and am settling down to the new circumstance. I probably did not write yet about my new job. There are 6 people including me in the office. We have a small space in a big office separated partitions. Anyway, we deal with the aspirin. We don’t actually handle aspirin; we don’t sell or examine or anything. We take care of the effect of aspirin. There are thousands of donors taking aspirin not for getting over disease. They use it for prevent coming down with disease. We distinguish them into two types, who take and who do not. 5 years later, Japanese government will make decision if they allow people to use aspirin beforehand. But I know some country do already and I did not hear that was bad. But side effect is should exist. But I don’t think that’s strong enough to kill people.

Anyway, our daily job is contacting with hospitals in all over Japan, in order to increase the number of donor.

I have not worked as an office worker before. There are lots of things to learn.

ops

I should have studied for TOEIC—Test of English International communication. I will have test tomorrow, actually this afternoon, but I don’t prepare almost at all. This last minute I checked what kind of questions they would ask. Many questions will get in my way. I solved some of them and noticed that English is difficult. Hahahaha. To my shame, I did not even know the difference between “remember to do” and “remember doing”. I never say like “I remembered calling” instead I will say “I remembered that I had made a phone call.”

Anyway, still I am not clear what the test is like. It will start 12:30. I do not see any good reason why they have to set at this time. It is middle of lunch time isn’t it?

Velcro

Today I went to Tokyu-hand’s to buy Velcro. Tokyu-hand’s is a store where you can buy almost anything. They are specialized in, especially, tools, so as Velcro. I was really wondering where I can buy Velcro. Probably I have chance to buy it at work shop, but the first thing popped in my head was that store. Well the reason I needed Velcro was because I wanted to fix my digital camera. Of course I can not fix mechanical part. The lid which held batteries and memory card inside did not stay—my friend dropped and broke—that is why I was really needed otherwise I could not use the camera unless using scotch tape to make the lid stick on the body of the camera. But every single stupid time, I mean when I take it off, the sticky stuff leaves on.

So, I decided to use Velcro instead of making mess. As the result, the lid did not close all the way…I can use it as a camera and don’t have to be worried about opening the lid of itself. But it looks sure dumb. I expected it to be kind of smart looking, using colorful Velcro and all. But the Velcro was too thick to look cool, in addition to that I chose Orange. How orange color does look good on glossy blue body? I am lucking of coordinating color. Anyway, I am too chicken to put the picture of the camera. I am afraid that somebody points the picture and calls out “how dumb it is!”

I got to go on a diet!!

I woke up at 10 am and brought garbage out to throw away. But the thing was, the garbage truck was already gone. Hahaha How unfortunate I was. I would throw only cans and only can’s garbage truck had come to pick up. I expected the truck would come before noon; and one truck would pick up all kind of garbage such as can, cardboard, and bottle. Anyway I could discard cardboard, though. However I missed throwing away cans last time too. So now I have lots of empty useless cans. But I was lucky because I washed them when I opened so that they would give off any bad smell.

I checked my weight today, and noticed I am now 160 pounds. I put on 2 pounds recently. I think 158 is good to me, even, though I am 5 foot 5. I am stocky so, you cannot tell my best weight with ordinary calculation. Anyway, I will go on a diet from now. Hahahaha make me into 140 pounds for two month. I will keep posting how heavy I am. Hopefully I won’t forget I am on a diet.

What was I?

On 12th I slept well during the daytime. So I was far from sleepy last night, besides I drunk lots of coffee. I was pretty much awake all over the night. What I did, I practiced Kyudo and little bit study and most of time watching video clips on the internet.

My mother called me on a phone around 6am. Of course I was up and doing well for none sleep. But after that I did not have memory. I went out to throw garbage away, then what I did? I am pretty sure I did not study at all, and today was Saturday I could not seek a job. Well, I cooked but it should not have taken long.

Okay Summing up, I went to take a nap around 12….Okay I e-mailed to people, for one hour. Now I should know what I have done between 8 and 11. It is mystery.

Eureka Seven

Oh my goodness, I did not do anything productive. Anything!! Literary. What I have done today was watched whole “Eureka Seven” that’s the problem. I should not have watched this anime on end till the end. The anime was too good to stop watching. I guess I wrote about this anime before. I thought it was going to really stink, because when I was about to see it, I did not understand what was about. If I watch again early stories, I won’t get for sure. But anyhow, it got better and better. I could not stop watching. After I was through half of the series, I had a chance to see the interview of directors. He said he did not expect that the anime could be like that, and he was struggling to create the stories step by step. That’s why, the first some stories are weird. Anyway, it was about, I think, “love” between human and human, between human and alien. It sounds get cheap when I write down. But it’s worth watching. Besides, they used robots, so many kids get into this with this way. Hahaha

Anyway, after that I lost motivation to do anything. I spent all night to watch it and, yes, I went to bed this morning—the sun was already high above—but got up before 10 am. Then I was still sleepy.

Bike will get better.

Oh I post second time. After I posted my first one, I went to a bike shop in Mitaka which is only 5 miles away from my apart. My bike was making funny noise from between under the handle and hub of tire. I did not figure out where. Last week same thing happened to my bike too but then, I went to the bike shop and it did not open. I ended up going to another bike shop which I can not count on usually. They got the noise away then; they told me the noise was from tire. After I came back from the trip to Japan sea, same thing was happened.

This time I made sure if the good bike shop was open and wheeled in. The master said the squeaky sound was coming from the stem of the handle, and told me it needed an overhaul. So, I dropped off my bike then and started walking toward Mitaka station.

Mitaka station was next station of Musasisakai station where I used to live around. I remembered that I bought a cutting board before at Seven-eleven holdings, is like a department store, and also remembered that now I needed a big cutting board, because of the smallness of my kitchen. My kitchen is definitely small, no where I can put on a cutting board. When I cut something I place a normal size cutting board over the sink, but it too small to be stable. The big board I bought before was a big and I anticipated it might be enough size for the sink. I walked briskly, was exited about that finally I could solve the problem that harassed me for a half year. Can you imagine how dangerous it is to use an unstable cutting board all the time? Especially like me using kitchen everyday.

Anyway I went to the big store, and to my surprise, the store is now twice as big as before, 4 years ago. Now they got two buildings instead of one. I did not know which one to go, as a matter of course I made a wrong decision. To make long story short, the kitchen utensil section was in the other building; and they did not have a big one. What put me in that cruel situation? I totally wasted my time, though I had fun browsing around actually.

After I got out of the building, I found a barber shop. They’ll cut your hair with only 1,000 yen. No wonder I got hair cut.

Ops I lost the point. Anyhow, I pick up my bike tomorrow, will be like brand-new.

Where are you going, Tapa?

This morning Tapa Laxman Bab (I am not sure how to spell his name, sounds like this)—who are from Nepal—called me on a phone and said
“I will probably find a place in a month.” said, Tapa.
“Find what?” I answer with a question. Then, it did not take my brain to bring the information that he told me was going to start curry restaurant. I totally forgot about it, and he was sort of asking me to join his idea. He is a nice guy; he will put that into effect alright. However, there is no clue he will succeed in the plan. Besides, I am totally not interested in Curry restaurant. If I am not interested in something, I can not do the best in that. Anyway, I told him I will help you if he is short of hand.

Then my brain delivered second information that he also asked me to help him with money. Where do I have that money, anyway? I thought he was kidding at least the point in asking me to give him money. Ops he was not only serious about starting a restaurant but also about it.

When he hung up the phone; he told me to give him a phone call tomorrow. He said to me helping his plan is the way you live and stick to the word. Wait Tapa when did I give you a word?

He was urgent. What’s wrong with him?

PC was wrecked?

In these days computer was doing pretty funny after I tried to download “Eureka Seven” an animation. After that internet connection was dead and the PC did not work, got frozen and all. I felt like I should call to the internet provider. I first wondered if I paid internet fee properly, I withdrew money from a bank account and deposit into my post office account. But when I finished depositing, a paper came out from the machine saying I had enough money for paying. That way, the payment did not get in my way; this was due to internet provider’s problem or my modem. Any ways, I should have called. It was yesterday, and 10 to 9am I was about to call, the connection suddenly recovered. I don’t know why, I know sort of. Probably, the internet provider got some problem or just they checked it till their normal work time. They should have told me in advance, though.

The company’s problem aside, downloading is dangerous now in Japan. An sharing system “Winny”, in itself was not too bad, but some people use it for bad thing, spreading viruses and all. An funny—probably I should not say so—virus automatically disclosed governments tops secrets to people. You might have been watched by somebody your inside of your PC and giggled.
